ABOUT EMBODIMENT

Where It Comes From

Embodiment Coaching draws from a range of disciplines, including somatic psychology, mindfulness, neuroscience, martial arts, and body-based therapies. It’s grounded in the understanding that the body and mind are not separate—but deeply interconnected. This approach has been shaped by pioneers in the field such as Wendy Palmer, Richard Strozzi-Heckler, and Paul Linden, among others.

How It Works

Embodiment coaching is simple, accessible, and surprisingly effective. You don’t need any prior experience—just a willingness to explore.

In a session, we might work with:

  • Posture and movement to explore how you “show up” in different situations

  • Breathing exercises to regulate your nervous system and increase presence

  • Mindful awareness of sensations, emotions, and impulses

  • Creative practices like visualization or gentle movement to shift patterns

These practices help you reconnect with your body’s intelligence, build emotional resilience, and make choices that are more aligned with who you truly are.

What Is Embodiment Coaching?

Embodiment coaching (or somatic coaching) focuses on heightening awareness of bodily sensations, emotions, and movement as gateways to deeper self-awareness, behavior change, and overall wellbeing.

Many of our life experiences, habits, traumas, and beliefs are not just stored in our minds—they’re encoded in our bodies. We carry them in our posture, our breath, our gestures, and our nervous system. By becoming more attuned to these subtle signals, we can access powerful insights, release long-held patterns, and create meaningful, sustainable change.

When we reconnect with our bodies, we reconnect with ourselves. And from that place of grounded awareness, we relate to others—and to life—with more clarity, compassion, and confidence.
